How Does Microneedling Work?

An automatic device – sometimes known as a dermapen – is used to carry out the Microneedling treatment.  It makes hundreds of tiny, invisible perforations into the skin. The treatment  increases the absorption of serums, specific to your skin condition, by as much as 79%.

Often when clients hear the word microneedling, they instantly conjure up injections.  However, NO INJECTIONS are involved. The tiny perforations also cause slight trauma to the skin, which encourages cell regrowth as well as stimulating deposits of new collagen to form. The treatment is a highly effective Collagen Induction Therapy.

What Can Microneedling Treat?

The treatment is a therapeutic tool for the non-surgical treatment of various skin conditions such as:

  • ageing skin
  • wrinkles and fine lines
  • scarring from acne or wounds
  • areas of hyperpigmentation or discolouration
  • stretch marks
  • dull or dry skin
  • uneven skin tone
  • collagen induction
  • general rejuvenation of the skin

Keeping It Natural!

If you’re someone who doesn’t like the idea of having Dermal Filler and Botox injected into your skin, but still want to improve the signs of ageing, this treatment is made for you.

Microneedling causes the skin to naturally re-build the lost collagen which causes to age.

The slight trauma leads to collagen production underneath the skin rather than being lifted or filled with a foreign body.

Benefits of Your Blood Plasma!

Recently the  “Vampire Facial” has hit the news.

This is a treatment combining Dermapen/Microneedling with the Platelet-Rich Plasma taken from your own blood, which is bursting with healing properties.

Blood is taken from your arm and put into a centrifuge to extract the plasma.  The plasma is then absorbed into the skin using the microneedling technique.  Very effective for skin rejuvenation.

For many, having their blood drawn for beauty is a step too far!  And you don’t need to go to that extent to benefit from Microneedling.

Bespoke cocktails tailored to your skin condition are used at Aesthetics Julie Edwards for fantastic pain-free results!
